People with dry skin may want to address these things to help them get better, more hydrated and glowing skin.
1. Avoid Caffeine
You've heard it a million times I am sure, but caffeine is a diuretic and it reduces the amount of blood flow and nutrients to the tissues, decreasing cell turnover. This lack of cell turnover means a build up of dead cells on the surface of our skin, causing dull 'lack lustre' skin instead of glowing skin! Alcohol is also a diuretic, so too many prosecco's will also inhibit dewy skin.
2. Eat more oil
This doesn't mean you can go to Five Guys and eat all the fries (IF ONLY 😩), instead, you need to increase your uptake of omega 3 oils. You can find this in your 'fatty' fish such as salmon, mackerel, sardines as well as in grass-fed organic beef or lamb and flaxseed oil.
Lacking in these oils is one of the biggest causes of dry skin.
3. Get your vits out
Certain vitamins and minerals are needed to repair and moisturise the skin. Zinc maintains smooth skin as it has anti inflammatory benefits. Vitamin C is required for collagen production, which in turn acts as a sponge for moisture, making the skin plump. Copper and Zinc also keep collagen dense. A deficiency in Vitamin A can lead to dry hair, fingernails, eyes and skin.
4. Avocados
If there is one food product to include in your diet every day, it is this beautiful green little vitamin bomb. It is packed with essential oils and vitamins for the skin. Mash it up on toast with poached eggs on top, or even blend it with some raw cacao powder and a splash of almond milk to make an insanely yummy vegan chocolate mousse.
5. Water
If you're not drinking 2L of water a day, your skin won't be looking as good as it can. Period. Water is SO important for maintaining your bodily functions, including cell turnover, so your glow relies on your drinking habits.
These steps won't take immediate effect in getting rid of your dry skin, it takes the skin weeks to renew, so you must be patient. The increased uptake of water will make you look more hydrated quickly, however. Persevere, it is about creating a nourishing diet and good habits that will make your skin glow.

PRE-TREAT
Mix ¼ cup of White Distilled Vinegar with cool water and pre soak the item for 15 minutes. This should help keep the shine and alleviate any blemishes on the silk.
HAND WASH & RINSE
Handwashing is always the best and safest method for washing silk.
Put It In Reverse: Prepare to wash by turning the item inside out. Wash with the same or like colors only.
Draw A Bath: Add a squirt of a Silk Detergent to a washbasin or sink filled with cool water.
Go Under: Submerge your item and gently agitate the water with your hand to evenly distribute soap and water. Soak for up to 30 minutes.
Rinse Clear: Run cool water through items until rinse water is no longer soapy. Do not wring. Instead, gently press the water out of your item between your hands or against the sink.
DRY & FINISH
No-Rush Drying: Lay the item flat in its natural shape on a drying rack or hang to dry. If hanging to dry, be sure to position the item properly on the hanger to prevent stretching.
Wrinkle-Free: Steam to remove wrinkles and rejuvenate the natural luster after washing. This will achieve the perfect finish! Don’t have a steamer handy? Use an iron set to the “steam” setting, hovering over the item – do not make contact.

]]>1. It is Anti-Ageing
Silk is significantly less absorbent than regular cotton, so your lovely face creams will stay where they need to be, on your face! Because the silk retains the moisture in your face, you will wake up with significantly less face wrinkles and less sleep creases. Silk also contains a natural protein and a number of amino acids that help keep wrinkles at bay.
2. Glossy, Bed-Head Free Hair
The smooth tight weave of natural silk causes less friction than cotton, so your hair won't 'drag' and your blow dry will last for longer. Over time you will also notice a big difference in your hairs frizziness, split ends and fly aways as the silk retains the moisture in the hair too.
3. It's Hypoallergenic
Cotton is known to have poor resistance to allergens, meaning any sensitive skin will really suffer. Silk has a natural resistance to dust mites, fungus, mould and other allergens. This will change the texture of your skin, making it smoother. If you have a child, you should also consider it for them too.
4. You feel like a princess.
Just like having a long, relaxing bath, your luxurious silk pillowslips will make you feel simply wonderful. The smooth texture of the silk makes for an ultra-relaxing part of your evening routine. Match your Pillowcase with one of our Luxury Silk Eye Masks for an even better experience.
5. It regulates your temperature
Do you battle to get the cool side of your pillow in the night? The Silk Pillowcase regulates the temperature naturally so you won't get too warm in the night. In fact, it will be the best sleep you have had in a long time.

"Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit and resign yourself to the influences of earth." Henry David Thoreau, poet & philosopher.
Seasonal change is upon us, the air has turned to have a sharp bitterness and the leaves have said their goodbyes ready for the cooler months. The warm smell of smoke in the air, filling our souls with that nostalgic feeling of bonfire night.
Light some candles
The power of candles is embraced by the Danes as one of the most powerful ways to create 'hygge' instantly. The soft, flickering flames automatically take you into a relaxing state of mind. The Danes will burn plain, white candles. But for extra relaxation, an essential oil filled candle will provide even more hygge (please note that it must be an essential oil candle and not a synthetic fragrance, theres a difference.)
Take a bath, full of essential oils and healing salts
Taking a long, relaxing bath is the epitome of hygge. Grab yourself a novel and embrace the soothing feeling of melting into the bathtub. Make the most of your bath experience by adding some epsom salts to detoxify the body and using a healing and essential oil full bath potion like this one.
Grab a coffee with a dear friend
Enjoy a coffee (or a PSL, it is that season!) with someone who you hold dearly, be it a family member or a friend you haven't seen for a while. It's the little things in life that bring us so much joy, yet we hardly do them. So, this season, make it a priority and get that hygge spirit.
Embrace the season and enjoy it all. This is the most wonderful time of year after all!
Let us know how you embrace hygge. We love reading your comments!
